50 - 50 SHARING

LAOAG CITY -- Senator Aquilino "Nene" Q. Pimentel, Jr., (PDP-Laban) explains his proposal for a 50-50 sharing of taxes collected between national government units. This is one of the 152 amendments to the Local Government Code embodied in Senate Bill 826 filed by Pimentel which he discussed at the 3rd Luzon Conference of the Provincial Board Members League at the Fort Ilocandia in Laoag City.
MAGNA CARTA FOR BUSINESS

LIGAO CITY -- Rather than function as some kind of job placement officals, local executives must do their part in encouraging foreign and Filipino investors to put up factories and branches in their communities to generate jobs for their constituents. This was emphasized by Senator Aquilino "Nene" Q. Pimentel, Jr., when he discussed the proposed Magna Carta for Business and the 152 proposed amendments to the Local Government Code during a forum of local officials in Ligao City.
ONE-STOP SHOPS

NAGA CITY -- Local government units will be required to create one-stop-shops to facilitate the processing and approval of investors' applications to do business in their communities. This is one of the salient features of the proposed Magna Carta for Business, according to Senator Aquilino "Nene" Q. Pimentel, Jr., in a dialogue with members of the Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Villa Caceres Hotel in Naga City.

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

NAGA CITY -- Senator Aquilino "Nene" Q. Pimentel, Jr. (PDP-Laban) discusses measures to strenghthen the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and to make it more relevant to the needs of the Filipino youth as part of the amendments to the Local Government Code.

In a dialogue with the youth at the Naga City Youth Center, Pimentel said that among the proposed measures is a redefinition of the age bracket in which youth would qualify to vote in SK elections and/or run for SK positions.
