Jurisdiction of the Blue Ribbon CommitteeThe present Blue Ribbon Committee has, in aid of legislation, "jurisdiction over all matters relating to, including investigation of malfeasance, misfeasance and nonfeasance in office by officers and employees of the government, its branches, agencies, subdivision and instrumentalities, implementation of the provision of the Constitution on nepotism, and investigation of any matter of public interest on its own initiative or brought to its attention by any member of the Senate." Sec. 13 par. (37) Rules of the Senate. Eleventh Congress.Scope of "in aid of legislation" - Inquiries may refer to the implementation or reexamination of any law or in connection with any proposed legislation or the formulation of future legislation. They may also extend to any and all matters relating to, including investigation of, malfeasance, misfeasance, and nonfeasance in office by officers and employees of the government, its political subdivision and instrumentalities; implementation of the constitutional provisions on nepotism; and investigation of any matter affecting the public interest and such matters vested by the Constitution in Congress and/or in the Senate alone.
